Georgetown University McDonough School of Business will celebrate faculty research May 7 at a Faculty Research Showcase. The event will take place in the school's Connelly Commons from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Faculty posters will be on display in conjunction with a reception.

D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson (SFS'92, EML'07), who was once convinced she had no interest in the field of education, received an honorary degree at Georgetown April 21 for her contributions to education reform.

Undergraduates' Paper to be Published in Journal of Applied Finance


Two Georgetown McDonough School of Business undergraduate students, seniors Sean Kensil and Kaitlin Margraf, wrote a paper that was accepted for publication by the Journal of Applied Finance. Their research, titled "The Advantage of Failing First: Bear Stearns v. Lehman Brothers," was written as a part of a course and individual study project led by Professor David Walker.

Alumni Connection Leads to Global Learning Experience


Tyler Read (BSBA '13) knew his spring semester would be a time for experiential learning. The marketing and international business major planned to study abroad at the Ludwig Maximilians Universität in Munich, Germany, beginning in March 2012, but he had part of the semester to fill before going to Munich and the motivation to do something with his business knowledge.
