Flash Crash Conference: One Year Later



On May 5, the Center for Financial Markets and Policy at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business will host "The Flash Crash: One Year Later," a conference to discuss the U.S. market structure and lessons learned from the high-speed trading glitch that disrupted financial markets on May 6, 2010. Global Social Enterprise Initiative Established



TheĀ Global Social Enterprise Initiative engages corporate, nonprofit, government, and other stakeholders to advance the understanding of social enterprise. It is led by Distinguished Professor of the Practice Bill Novelli and has had students involved in each stage of its development. At a kick-off event the center announced that the Bank of America Charitable Foundation has donated $1 million to support the initiative. [READ MORE]

MBA Student Named a Finalist for Women in Technology Leadership Award



Rachelle Palmer, an MBA Evening Program student at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, recently was named as a finalist for the Women in Technology Leadership Awards. A senior specialist in Deloitte's Technology division, Palmer is among the top five women in the "Rising Star" class. The awards banquet will be held on May 19, 2011, at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner.
