Rural Winner Wallstreet Dean David Thomas
Iowa Business Named First Rural Entrepreneur of the Year Execs Give Students Glimpse of Life on Wall Street "So You Think You Can Dance?" Global Business Education Partnerships

The American Farm Bureau Federation with Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business Global Social Enterprise Initiative and Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative’s Startup Hoyas named ScoutPro of Lone Tree, Iowa, as the Farm Bureau Entrepreneur of the Year as part of the first-ever Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge.

Women representing 10 top financial companies shared their advice on landing jobs and internships at the sixth annual Women on Wall Street event, held Jan. 8 for some 300 male and female students in Lohrfink Auditorium. The event is co-sponsored by the Georgetown University Women’s Leadership Initiative and the Financial Management Association.

Aspen Name New Year
Aspen Institute Engages MBA Students in Impact Investing Research MS in Finance Students Meet for Onsite Residency Start the New Year Focusing on Sincere Relationships at Work

Three MBA students contributed to a new Aspen Institute impact investing report. The students, working with Melissa Bradley, researched and developed a survey of active and emerging investors to assess their activity and interest related to investments in education, economic security, and health and well-being.

The second cohort of Master of Science in Finance online program students came to campus in the fall for an onsite residency. The residency gave students the chance to network, participate in a case competition, and receive advanced training in communication, management, and strategy.

The start of a new year is a fine time to consider what Chris Long, assistant professor of management, calls "relational leadership" and recognize that forging sincere relationships with co-workers can be central to making a workplace work.
