The vast majority of consumers will wait in line and shop online to find Thanksgiving deals this year, according to new research by the Georgetown Institute for Consumer Research, sponsored by KPMG. The survey shows consumers increasingly prefer to shop both in stores and online (83 percent) or online only (12 percent). Very few (5 percent) plan to shop solely in brick-and-mortar stores. |

On November 10-14, executives from various functions within Microsoft’s subsidiary in Brazil (MS Brazil) attended a customized executive education course at the McDonough School of Business. Microsoft sought a program that would focus on innovative thinking, international strategy, and planning and implementing change management. |
The American Farm Bureau Federation, together with Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business Global Social Enterprise Initiative and the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative’s StartupHoyas, announced the four national finalists of the first-ever Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge. |
James P. Moore, Jr., managing director of the Business, Society, and Public Policy Initiative at Georgetown McDonough, will serve on the transition team for the mayor-elect of D.C., Muriel Bowser. Moore will serve on Bowser’s Economic Development and Jobs Committee to recommend how to grow the tax base to reinvest in job creation and economic opportunities for all D.C. residents. |
