MBA Ranking
This year, Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business jumped to 24th in the Bloomberg Businessweek ranking of top full-time MBA programs. The school was 30th in 2012, when the ranking was last published.

The ranking considers three metrics – student satisfaction, employer feedback, and intellectual capital of faculty. Georgetown McDonough saw significant advances in the first two, with the student satisfaction score rising from 27th to 16th and the employer assessment moving from 35th to 29th.

Dean Thomas Discusses Future of Business Education at D.C. Panel Evening MBA Students Host Boxing Night, Raise $5,600 for Charity Executive Program Addresses Need for Financial Basics:
Jan 12-14, 2015

Georgetown McDonough School of Business Dean David A. Thomas joined five other business school deans from regional universities to discuss the nuanced and dynamic relationship between business education and the needs of the workforce at a panel hosted by the Greater Washington Board of Trade on Oct. 29 at The Hamilton in Washington, D.C.

On the night of Sept. 27, more than 300 Georgetown students, alumni, and their guests packed the Sphinx Club in downtown Washington, D.C. The occasion was the first annual Georgetown McDonough Fight Night, which showcased six fights between members of Georgetown’s student boxing clubs to raise over $5,600 for International Justice Mission, an organization that helps protect the poor from violence in 20 communities throughout the developing world.

The Office of Executive Education has seen an increased demand in finance-based courses over the last few years as more people look for ways to effectively manage and grow budgets, explore new business opportunities, and advance their own professional goals.

Last fall, Alexandra Sharp submitted her final research project to her Global Financial Markets and Institutions class; little did she know that this was only the beginning of a semester-long exploratory journey. The Georgetown Institute for the Study of Markets and Ethics at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business will focus its fall symposium on “The Ethical Limits of Markets” on Friday, November 21, 2014. The symposium will explore questions surrounding ethical limitations on markets.

Members of the McDonough Military Association traveled across the Potomac to Arlington Cemetery to lay a wreath at one of the graves to honor veterans. The students chose the grave of Georgetown University School of Foreign Service alumnus Major General John Liu Fugh, F '57, for their wreath-laying ceremony.
