The Stanton Distinguished Leaders Series will kick off with Briana Scurry, an Olympic gold medalist and World Cup champion goalkeeper, who will discuss "Tackling Obstacles and Achieving Dreams." The event will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. in Lohrfink Auditorium. |
The Center for Financial Markets and Policy at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and the Financial Times will present a conference on Financial Markets Quality conference on Tuesday, Sept. 16. |
The Undergraduate Program at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business advanced to No. 15 in U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Undergraduate Business Programs Rankings,” up from No. 16 last year. The program also is ranked No. 6 for international business.

In the study forthcoming in The Journal of Marketing Research, “Positioning Brands Against Large Competitors,” Georgetown McDonough Assistant Professor Neeru Paharia and her co-authors explore the effects of a small brand having a large, dominant competitor – highlighting the conditions under which focusing on a competitive threat, rather than hiding it, can actually help a small business. |
Doerr, who has backed the start of Google, Amazon.com, Intuit, and Zyng, has a passion for helping entrepreneurs create the “Next Big Thing” in mobile and social networks, greentech innovation, education, and economic development. |
On Sept. 6, 10 District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) assistant principals and educators completed the nine-month Aspiring Principals Program, a Georgetown McDonough customized executive education program that is part of the Mary Jane Patterson Fellowship for high-performing DCPS employees who want to become principals. |
