2014 Commencement Schedule and Webcast Information Why Not Capitalism? Book by Jason Brennan Hill Forum Sheds Light on Complicated Trade Economics Surrounding Russia, Ukraine

Commencement activities for undergraduate students will begin Thursday, May 15, with Senior Convocation at 2 p.m., followed Tropaia on Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m., and graduation on Saturday, May 17 at 6 p.m. MBA, Executive MBA, and Executive Master's in Leadership students will graduate on Friday, May 16, at 12:30 p.m.

In his new book titled Why Not Capitalism?, Jason Brennan, assistant professor of strategy, ethics, economics, and public policy at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, responds to claims that the financial crisis showed a fundamental moral dilemma in capitalism.

On April 23, the Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy (CBPP) hosted a Georgetown on the Hill event titled “Russia, Ukraine, and Trade” in the Rayburn House Office Building [watch the video]. The panel was introduced by Professor J. Bradford Jensen, CBPP senior policy scholar, and led by CBPP Senior Industry Fellow Bob Vastine.

Georgetown McDonough Hosts 65 Marketing Researchers Georgetown Selected to Host 2014 Finance Cavalcade Georgetown Undergraduate Program Featured in Biz Ed
On May 8–9, Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business hosted the 4th annual Marketing Research Colloquium featuring faculty research presentations and doctoral student poster presentations. Georgetown has been selected to host the 2014 Society for Financial Studies Cavalcade, one of the most prestigious academic conferences in finance sponsored by three top journals. This year, the Cavalcade received 653 paper submissions, a 42 percent increase over the number of submissions last year.

At Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business in Washington, D.C., we recently revitalized the undergraduate curriculum with three key goals: We wanted to foster a global perspective in our students, give them greater exposure to ethics and social enterprise, and provide more opportunities for them to develop critical thinking skills.
